About Vocal Remover
Vocal Remover analyzes a song and splits it into two tracks: the instrumental, with the whole backing track minus the vocals, and the acapella, with the isolated voice. It uses Demucs, Meta's audio separation model, running in your browser, so the song is never uploaded to a server. Play both tracks in sync, mix them to taste and download them as WAV, MP3, FLAC or OGG.

Tips for better results
- May take several minutes and substantial memory. Separation can leave traces of other instruments.
- Start from your best copy: a WAV or FLAC separates better than a heavily compressed MP3.
- Pop, rock and R&B, with the voice clearly defined in the mix, give the cleanest results.
- Dense vocal harmonies, live recordings or heavily processed vocals can leave traces.
- If you only need part of the song, trim it first with Audio Trimmer: it'll be much faster.

How do I remove the vocals from a song?

Are the vocals removed completely?
On most studio songs the lead vocal is almost entirely removed. On live, lo-fi or heavily compressed recordings, traces of other instruments or of the voice may remain.
How long does it take?
It depends on your device: a 3-minute song takes about 3 minutes on a computer with WebGPU-compatible graphics and about 9 without. Below the panel you'll see the estimate for your device.
Does it work on phones?
It may not: the model needs more memory than many phones, especially iPhone and iPad, allow a single tab. For full songs, use a computer.
How is it different from Stem Splitter?
Vocal Remover gives you two tracks: vocals and instrumental. Stem Splitter also separates the drums, bass and other instruments, for four tracks.
Can I use the instrumental in my videos?
For personal use or practice, yes. To publish it or use it commercially, you need permission from whoever holds the song's rights.
