Vaporwave is the most extreme of the slow effects: it takes the song to 65% speed and wraps it in a heavy 80% reverb, keeping the pitch or lowering it for an even denser feel. The result sounds distant, like a blurry memory of the '80s and '90s. It was born as an internet aesthetic in the early 2010s and is as much visual culture as it is music.

Tips for better results
- For an even denser vaporwave, drop to 60% and push the reverb above 100%.
- If the song gets too long, trim the part you want first with Audio Trimmer.
- Pair the audio with Music Visualizer to get a video with a matching aesthetic.
- Avoid tracks with lots of fast detail, like quick rap or metal: at this speed and with this much reverb they blur.
Frequently asked questions
What speed does vaporwave use?
Usually 60 to 70%; the preset uses 65%. Slow enough for that stretched-time feeling without the song losing its shape.
Does it change the pitch?
You choose. By default the original pitch is kept; with «lower pitch», it drops with the speed, like a slow cassette — very common in classic vaporwave.
How is it different from Slowed + Reverb?
It's the most extreme version: slower (65% versus the usual 75–80%) and with much more reverb. Slowed + reverb is more versatile; vaporwave aims for a very specific surreal, nostalgic mood.
And from lo-fi?
Lo-fi usually keeps normal speed and relies on vinyl crackle, tape hiss and relaxed beats. Vaporwave slows way down and drowns in reverb: it's more experimental and more aesthetic.
Can I make it even more extreme?
Yes. In Custom, lower the speed to 50% and raise the reverb to 200% for an ambient, almost shapeless vaporwave.
