An open format, common in video games and web projects.
Tips for better results
- The final quality depends on the audio in the video: extracting to FLAC doesn't improve poor sound, it just takes more space.
- Video resolution doesn't affect the sound; a 4K video can carry fairly compressed audio.
- Before extracting, make sure the video has sound: some screen recordings are saved without audio.
- Only extract audio from your own videos or ones you have permission to use.

Which video formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, MKV, WEBM and AVI. That covers phone recordings, screen captures and most videos you have saved.
Is quality lost when extracting the audio?
With FLAC or WAV you get a faithful copy of the video's audio. With MP3 at 320 kbps the compression is minimal and hard to notice. What isn't possible is improving the original sound.
What if the video has several audio tracks?
The first audio track is extracted, which is the main one in almost every file.
Is the video modified or uploaded?
No. Extraction creates a new audio file on your device and your video stays exactly as it was.
Why is the WAV so big?
Because it stores the audio uncompressed, while the video had it compressed. For a light file with good quality, choose MP3.
